Artist Statement: I  chose to use just pencil and charcoal because the picture was taken on a sunny day, 夸大灰度, and because color often overwhelms an already complex picture. Charcoal makes the small details pop and shows beauty in simplicity.

Artist Statement: This photograph is inspired by the unique perspective of an insect’s world, capturing the fascination of exploring life from a bug’s point of view. As a child, I used to imagine what it would be like to be a tiny bug crawling around in the dirt. The figure in the background symbolizes how we often overlook the beauty and complexity of nature’s smaller creatures.
